Participating in DRS2022

DRS2022 will offer 7 days of activity, 4 days of paper presentations, Conversations and Workshops, 5 Labs (a new format that premiéres in 2022), 3 keynote events, an event for PhD Researchers, and 3 social dinner events with local food and wine catered by top Bilbao restaurants.

The conference also features a Fringe Festival that will allow the attendees to immerse themselves in the local environment and discover Bilbao’s thriving design and architecture scene. Events in the Fringe Festival are free to DRS2022 participants.

DRS2022 is a hybrid event. This means you will be able to fully participate whether in Bilbao in person or online from your preferred location. Our aim is to ensure that the presence and participation of people joining online is as valuable and engaging as those joining in person. The majority of events will be live-streamed and uploaded each conference day. The hybrid platform will host networking sessions, a lounge with music, the conference exhibition with results of the DRS Labs and much more. Online attendees will also be able to participate in selected Fringe events.

Registration Fees

Below you can find all categories of the registration fee. Prices are in Pound Sterling and include VAT.

The in-person conference registration fees include

Admission to all paper sessions, workshops and keynote events;
Access to the DRS conference virtual platform and screening room;
Conference lunches and coffee breaks;
Dinners and social events: Opening Reception, Main Dinner, Closing Party;
Night visit to the Guggenheim Museum’s collection, exclusive to DRS2022 attendees;
Access to all activities of the DRS Fringe Programme (subject to number limitations);
Conference guide;
Open Access and publication fees.

The online conference registration fees include

Admission to the streaming of all scientific sessions, workshops and keynote events;
Access to the DRS conference virtual platform and screening room;
Participation in selected activities of the DRS Fringe programme;
Virtual social nights with live music, food and entertainment events;

Notes

Accepted submissions will only be published in the conference proceedings if at least one author registers for the conference and presents their work.

There is a 30% discount for DRS Members who are residents of a country on the DAC list of ODA recipients. Please contact info@drs2022.org to find out how you can register at this discounted rate.

Day tickets can also be purchased, please contact info@drs2022.org to find out the day rates.

Participants who require a visa invitation should contact us at info@drs2022.org after registering.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Should COVID restrictions prevent traveling to the conference, in-person fees will be converted into online fees. The difference in cost will be reimbursed.

The registration fee will be fully refunded for cancellations received by May 25th. Please note that a processing fee of £40 will be deducted from all refunds. No refund will be granted after May 25th. After that date, participants unable to travel to Bilbao will be able to switch to online attendance up to 24 hours before the conference. The difference in cost with the in-person fee will be reimbursed.
